Workshop Description: This novel clinical precision technology workshop will introduce and test an "App" to implement a standardized curriculum to prescribe individualized home phototherapy to meet both clinician and parental satisfaction with safe and effective use of a phototherapy device performance designed to meet the prescriptive intent of the clinician to reduce the neonatal bilirubin load in a timely manner. Our goal is to use this workshop design to be supported by a standardized home phototherapy (HPT) curriculum that could serve as a global framework but adapy to local assets, logistics and personnel).
Three leaders (USA and Europe) and two or more global co-leaders (Drs. Jeese Spaan, Lauren E.H. Westenberg and others) have direct experiences of home phototherapy programs),
We will introduce series of checklists that have been configured as a working "app" for home phototherapy. We will conduct 3 breakout sessions to facilitate a simulated presentation of diverse clinical scenarios. The checklists will be utilized to guide the management of hyperbilirubineia at home as well as respond to potential "emergencies" or adverse events introduced by the workshop tutors.
Each group will assess their performance in a whole group setting and address their own and those offered by their colleagues. This learning discussion will be moderated by the tutor and co-moderated by the group representative.
The tutors will lead a large group debriefing process to illustrate how lessons learned can be distilled for future application.
Finally, a tutor will summarize the entire workshop outcome and lessons learned from this exercise.
